Real life video footage shot on the streets of the Greater Toronto Area relevant to your day-to-day driving activities. Course material a mix of live video shot on streets such as King Street and Jarvis Street, while also seeing animated demonstrations and interactive modules.

Multiple choice exam

Complete a 50-question multiple choice exam after accomplishing your course materials. You're allowed to take the exam up to five times, beyond this a retake fee will apply. You are required to achieve a score of 70% to complete your certification requirement.

DrivePro is a City of Toronto-approved provider of the mandatory Vehicle-for-Hire (VFH) / Private Transportation Company (PTC) driver training course.

Is DrivePro's training course approved by the City of Toronto?

Yes, DrivePro is officially approved by the City of Toronto Municipal Licensing & Standards to deliver the required VFH/PTC driver training. Our certificate is accepted by the City as proof of completion.

How is the DrivePro course delivered?

DrivePro is one of the only providers that offers the course 100% online. This allows you to complete the training at your own pace, from anywhere with an internet connection. Other providers may require you to attend an in-person exam or take in-car driving lessons.

How long does the DrivePro course take to complete?

The course is self-paced. While the City requires a minimum amount of content, most students complete the DrivePro course in approximately 3-4 hours.

How much does the DrivePro course cost?

The cost for the DrivePro VFH training course is $79 + HST. This is significantly cheaper than many other course providers and we’re able to keep it cost effective as we conduct the training 100% online.

How do I enroll in the DrivePro course?

How long do I have access to the course materials after enrolling?

There is no expiry on the course. Once enrolled, you can complete the course at your leisure.

What devices can I use to take the DrivePro course?

Our online course is designed to be accessible on most modern devices with an internet connection, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Is there a test at the end of the DrivePro course?

Yes, there is a final assessment or test required to successfully complete the course and receive your certificate.

What is the passing grade for the final test? Can I retake it if I fail?

The passing grade is 70%. Yes, if you do not pass the test on your first attempt, you will be allowed 4 retake(s) (for a total of 5 free attempts). After that, a retake fee will be applied.

How do I get my training certificate after passing the course?

Upon successful completion of the course and passing the final test, your official training certificate will be emailed to you. We will also send your certification to the City of Toronto directly and they typically process it within 24 hours. You will then be able to submit your application to the City.

What do I do with the DrivePro certificate?

You need to submit this certificate to the City of Toronto Municipal Licensing & Standards (ML&S) as part of your VFH/PTC driver's licence application package. Follow the City's specific instructions for submitting application documents.
